Dr Andrzej Kompa

- Being elected a member of the Committee on Ancient Culture of the Polish Academy of Sciences is a great distinction to me. First of all, I am to deal with all issues related to assigning points to particular journals in Classical and Medieval Studies on the so-called ministerial list in Poland. I have been dealing with this task since 2019, so far on behalf of the Byzantine Studies Commission of the Polish Historical Society. It is particularly important that international periodicals dedicated to past eras are fairly and fully included in the list. It is not only the good position of particular disciplines and universities that depends on the scoring system, but also the professional status of individual scientists. - said dr Andrzej Kompa describing his planned duties.

The Committee on Ancient Culture of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) conducts research in the field of ancient literature and ancient law. Its members publish a journal entitled "Meander. Rocznik po艣wi臋cony kulturze 艣wiata staro偶ytnego" [Meander. Yearbook on the culture of the ancient world], Philological Archives and "Bibliotek臋 Przek艂ad贸w z Literatury Antycznej" [the Library of Translations from Ancient Literature].
