On 5th September 2022 the Biohazard Prevention Centre conducted workshops for the Police in the area of response to CBRN incidents connected with a demonstration of equipment designed to be used in the area of threats recognition, protection, decontamination and support units of the Police in the event of a CBRN incident. The workshops have been held at firing range at Military Institute of Chemistry and Radiometry as a part of a training of procedures for 1st line responders. The training was attended by 40 officers from Lodz Regional Police Headquarters and experts from Belgium, UK and Spain.
Through the exercise officers and guests were acquainted with modern methods of detecting hazardous chemicals and radioactive substances. Second half of the training covered a field exercise in which police officers performed the tasks of a first-line response to a CBRN event. The scenario of the exercise was prepared by ISFP project鈥檚 consortium led by the National Crisis Management Center of Belgium, and evaluated by a group of CBRN experts from the UK, Spain, Belgium and Poland. Participants were also invited to visit prototype of Police`s Mobile CBRN-E Support System which was designed and constructed within project financed form polish funds, coordinated by Military Institute of Chemistry and Radiometry.
Workshops were organized within ISFP project entitled 鈥濰armonised procedures and awareness of all agencies involved in the response of a chemical or a biological terrorist attack: education - training and train the trainer 鈥 BULLSEYE鈥. The project is financed by the European Commission`s funds, coordinated by the National Crisis Management Centre of the Kingdom of Belgium.
