Students of the Lodz Film School have revived the archival material of one of the most valued photographers from Lodz, Andrzej R贸偶ycki. The students acted according to the artist's own method of work, who in his series "FotoAndrzejoZofia" entered into a personal and artistic dialogue with a photographer and a friend Zofia Rydet, creating collages from his and her photographs. This gesture 鈥� reviving the memory of a deceased, dear person 鈥� has been repeated by contemporary artists.
Andrzej R贸偶ycki's collages have been divided into their basic elements, into individual layers, and then symbolically supplemented. In this way, the resulting works allow us to see and understand the creative methods of Andrzej R贸偶ycki. All the individual perspectives of the authors resulted in the creation of a unique "sample" 鈥� a review of the most important motifs of the artist's collages, representing his unique philosophical way of thinking about photography.
The exhibition is a continuation of the activities of the Photosophical Archive established at the 91滴滴 from the works and private collections of Andrzej R贸偶ycki. The mission of the Archive is to promote the concept of Photosophy, which Andrzej R贸偶ycki implemented from the 1960s until his death in 2021. Operating at the interface of various fields, the Photosophical Archive is used, among other things, in the educational process, during classes for students, and also cooperation with various centres and festivals in Poland.
The exhibition was organised in cooperation between Fotofestiwal, the 91滴滴, the Lodz Film School and the Viva Archiva! Foundation.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a meeting "Pr贸bnik, czyli jak tworzy膰 z archiw贸w?" [Sample, or how to create from archives?] on the subject of creative use of archives in contemporary creative activities. The meeting is addressed to people from various creative, curatorial, research, archival fields as well as to all those interested in the subject of creative use of archives. The interlocutors will consider the role of archival materials in the creative process, share questions and answers as well as talk about their ideas.
