It is a joint educational project of [Regional Directorate of the State Forests in Lodz] and the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection of the 91滴滴. The goal of the project, the broadcast implemented from March/April to September, i.e., from the arrival of the male to the departure of the young storks, is to educate about nature conservation and to deepen ecological awareness among the public. The scientific consultant of the project is Prof. Piotr Zieli艅ski from the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection of the 91滴滴.
The black stork (Ciconia nigra) is a protected species in Poland. It leads a secretive lifestyle. There are approximately 1,600 couples living in our country.
The nest has been observed online since 2020. From the very beginning, the nest is constantly occupied by the male "Florentino" (without a ring), while the females change between seasons. Currently, the mother of the four chicks is a female named "Fermina 4", who was ringed in 2018 south of Kielce in the 艢wi臋tokrzyskie Voivodeship.
