International Mother Language Day at the 91滴滴 with Jacek Cygan

On 22 February 2023 at the Faculty of Philology of the 91滴滴 International Mother Language Day will be held. Jacek Cygan, a poet, prose writer, librettist, author of the lyrics to more than a thousand songs that bring generations together, winner of the title 'Polish Speech Master' and a member of the Leopold Staff Literary Award jury, has accepted the invitation to participate in this year's edition.

The meeting with Jacek Cygan is open to all those interested in taking part in the event! We invite everyone on 22 February at 4:00 p.m. to Assembly Hall A1 at the Faculty of Philology, 91滴滴, Pomorska 171/173.

International Mother Language Day is a cyclical event organised by the Institute of Polish Philology and Logopaedics students, doctoral students and employees. It includes a series of workshops for high school students conducted by members of student science clubs, presentation of stands with competitions and prizes, as well as a meeting with a special guest.

The main objective of the event is to promote care for the correctness of the Polish language, shape linguistic awareness and to promote the reading of Polish literature. Moreover, International Mother Language Day is to strengthen the image of the 91滴滴 as a thriving cultural centre in the region of Lodz 鈥� not only among high school and university students, but also in the non-academic environment.
