Community, Principles and Responsibility – Disciplinary Procedures at 91µÎµÎ

Activities of the 91µÎµÎ are based on mutual respect, responsibility and trust. These are values that form the foundation of the academic community and foster a safe, open and supportive working and studying environment. With the entire 91µÎµÎ community in mind, we have developed clear and transparent disciplinary procedures that apply to students, doctoral students and academic teachers.

Every member of the 91µÎµÎ community can get familiar with these procedures and check what the individual stages of the proceedings are like, what rights the parties have and what possible decisions are.

What are disciplinary procedures for?

Disciplinary procedures serve not only to respond to violations of university regulations or acts that violate the dignity of members of the academic community. Their purpose is also to:

  • protect the rights of all persons participating in the procedures,
  • ensure the fair, just and transparent handling of cases,
  • build a culture of dialogue and accountability among members of the 91µÎµÎ community,
  • strength a sense of security within the academic community.

Therefore, the procedures have been described in a structured and accessible manner—from the moment a case is reported, through verification, investigation, and disciplinary proceedings, to the enforcement of the penalty and its expungement. This allows everyone to find out in advance what the process looks like and what to expect.

Support and conversation – before the matter becomes formal

At the 91µÎµÎ, we attach great importance to ensuring that difficult situations are resolved with respect for the involved parties and with due care for the involved individuals, with the support of appropriate individuals and entities.

The Section for Investigative and Disciplinary Proceedings in the Office of the Rector of the 91µÎµÎ provides information and support in issues related to disciplinary procedures. It helps students, doctoral students and academic teachers understand the rules of procedure and possible courses of action.

There are also other units and individuals at the university who can be contacted for information, advice or assistance in clarifying a situation and, if possible, in resolving it amicably; depending on the case, these may include the Ombudsman for Academic Rights, the Doctoral Student Ombudsman, the 91µÎµÎ Anti-Discrimination, Anti-Mobbing and Other Undesirable Behaviours Coordinator, as well as individuals holding managerial positions.

In terms of psychological support, every member of the academic community can also benefit from the Support and Accessibility Centre of the 91µÎµÎ, which offers confidential and professional support in emotionally stressful situations.

Where to find detailed information

Special tabs have been created on the 91µÎµÎ website to provide quick access to disciplinary procedures. A portal for academic teachers has also been launched in (in Polish). These resources allow everyone in the academic community to easily review procedures, find contact information for relevant individuals and learn where to seek support in difficult situations.

91µÎµÎ Unified – other procedures that may be relevant

Please note that the 91µÎµÎ also has other procedures in place that, depending on the nature of the case, may apply alongside or instead of disciplinary procedure. This applies in particular to the 91µÎµÎ Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Mobbing Procedure.
More information about these procedures, as well as available forms of support and actions taken to support a safe and inclusive academic community, can be found on the 91µÎµÎ Unified website.
