
Profesor Krzysztof Stefa艅ski became professionally associated with the 91滴滴 in 1992, when he started working at the Department of History of Art. He was its head in the years 2009 - 2016. Since 2018, he has been the Head of the Department of History of Architecture at the Institute of History of Art.
He conducts classes in Polish and universal architecture of the 19th and 20th centuries, analytical and specialisation courses and a master's seminar. His research interests are: Polish and universal architecture of the 19th and 20th centuries, sacred architecture, art of Lodz, sepulchral art. Thanks to his scholarly activities, he has contributed to the exploration of the issue of changes in 19th century architecture in Poland seen in the broader artistic context of Central Europe.
A particularly important initiative of Professor Stefa艅ski was his involvement in the activities aimed at preserving and promoting knowledge about the Karol Scheibler鈥檚 Chapel at the Old Cemetery, Ogrodowa in Lodz 鈥 a unique monument on a European scale. He is a co-founder of the Foundation for Saving Karol Scheibler鈥檚 Chapel 鈥 currently the Chairman of the Foundation's Council 鈥 and a co-founder of the Society for the Care of the Old Cemetery in Lodz.
Another equally significant initiative of Prof. Stefa艅ski aimed at popularising the architecture and culture of the Lodz region and protecting the national heritage by activating the local environment is participation in establishing the Lux Pro Monumentis Foundation, which organises e.g. annual "Light. Move. Festival. Kinetic Art Festival of Light".
He is a member of the Lodz Branch of the Association of Art Historians, the Lodz Scientific Society 鈥 Faculty of Art and Art Sciences and the Society for the Preservation of Historical Monuments, Lodz branch. He works in the editorial office of the publishing series "Sztuka Polski 艢rodkowej" and the magazine "Art Inquiry. Recherches sur les arts"; in the years 2014-2018 he was the editor-in-chief of "TECHNE/韦螘围螡螚. Pisma 艁贸dzkich Historyk贸w Sztuki".
