Dr Joanna Orzeł in the NPRH Project "Critical Edition of Hagiographic and Patriotic Collections"

Dr Joanna OrzeÅ‚ from the Institute of History, Faculty of Philosophy and History, 91µÎµÎ is a member of the research team for the project "Critical Edition of Hagiographic and Patriotic Collections from the 17th to the 20th Centuries," implemented under the National Programme for the Development of Humanities (NPRH)– National Heritage Module. The project received funding of PLN 1,777,291.29.

The project, carried out under the supervision of dr hab. MaÅ‚gorzata Mieszek, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Philology of the 91µÎµÎ, aims to prepare an 11-volume critical edition of the most important Polish hagiographic compendia from the period from the mid-17th to the early 20th century.

Dr Joanna Orzeł is responsible for the substantive commentary and introductions to individual volumes, which focus on the mentality of society in subsequent eras. Her work will make a significant historical contribution to this interdisciplinary project, combining literary, cultural and religious perspectives.
