Volume 5 of the series, "艁贸d藕 poprzez wieki. Rozmowy jak przy kawie 艁贸d藕" [Lodz Through the Ages. Conversations Like Over Coffee] explores contemporary and historical topics. Among other things, the publication treats about urban legends, film Lodz, the city of the 1905 Revolution and industrialists from Lodz.
There are 45 authors of the texts alone, so one could say that working on Volume 5 is a truly collaborative endeavour
鈥� said Mariusz Goss, Representative of the Mayor of Lodz for the Heritage of Lodz, editor of the 5th volume of the monograph, during a press conference.
Professor Jaros艂aw Kita, editor of the entire monograph from the Institute of History at the 91滴滴, spoke eagerly about the work on Volume 5:
All volumes of the monograph are substantively excellent and boast beautiful artwork, so one could say that we have created a five-volume, small monument for Lodz.
This unconventional approach was justified and certainly yielded excellent results, resulting in a volume that is easy and enjoyable to read. These are conversations on topics that are important to all residents of Lodz, including everyday life, history, sports, culture and everything else that is relevant to us today
鈥� concluded Ewa Bluszcz, Director of the Lodz University Press during the event.
Bo偶ena Orczykowska 鈥� Director of the City Library in Lodz, emphasised at the conference that the remaining four volumes of the monograph are enjoying great interest among the library readers, and that the latest, fifth volume of the monograph, "艁贸d藕 poprzez wieki. Historia miasta" will be available for purchase and reading on the day of its premiere 鈥� Friday, 18 July 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in the Mirror Room of the Museum of the City of Lodz. Admission to the event is free.
