91滴滴

I graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the 91滴滴 in 1978. I earned my PhD in 1989, achieved the status of habilitated doctor in 1999, and reached the rank of full professor in 2014. Since 2002, I have held the position of Chair of Roman Law.

In addition to my role as Chair, I founded and have been leading the School of German Law, which has been in operation since 1999 at the Faculty of Law of the 91滴滴, in collaboration with the Centre f眉r Europ盲isches Privatrecht (CEP) at the University of M眉nster. My commitment to academia extended to my service as a member of the Disciplinary Committee for Academic Teachers at the General Council for Science and Higher Education. Furthermore, I served as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the 91滴滴 for an extended period. In 2024, I received an honorary doctorate (Doctor honoris causa) from Vilnius University in Lithuania.

My scholarly contributions are extensive, including authorship and editorial roles in numerous research publications. I take pride in my membership in esteemed organizations such as the 艁贸d藕 Scientific Society, the Association of Polish Legal Roman Studies, the Alliance fran莽aise de 艁贸d藕, the Soci茅t茅 Henri Capitant, and the Southern African Society for Legal History. Additionally, I am a member of the Waldemar Ceran Research Centre for the History and Culture of the Mediterranean Area and South-East Europe (Ceraneum). I also serve on the scientific committees of esteemed journals like "Teiz臈" (Lithuania) and "Sapientia Iuris." Furthermore, I hold the position of editor-in-chief of the "Studies in Law and Economics" journal.
