My research focuses on hydrobiology and ecology of inland waters. The subject of my scientific interests is the functioning of river ecosystems, both natural and heavily modified by human activities, the impact of dam reservoirs on the biocenosis of the river below the dam, and trophic relationships in lotic ecosystems. The material basis of my research is benthic macroinvertebrates and fish in connection with environmental parameters.

The classes I teach are mainly lectures and exercises in ecology, animal development biology and river ecology.

My responsibilities include:

in the area of research:

• conducting scientific research;
• disseminating scientific research results by publishing them in prestigious international journals;
• obtaining funds for scientific research by applying in competitions;
• active participation in scientific conferences and seminars,
• participation in the commercialization of research results;
• training of scientific personnel and care for their development.

in the area of teaching:

• teaching;
• participating in the development and updating of educational programs and teaching plans;
• conducting examinations and credits, including diploma examinations;
• supervising students' credit and term papers;
• conducting and reviewing diploma theses.

in the area of organizational responsibilities:

• work in the collegiate bodies of the University and in faculty, senate and rectoral committees;
• working in recruitment committees and examination committees in the university recruitment process;
• organizing and participating in promotional and presentation actions for the University;
• organizing conferences, symposia, seminars and other academic activities.
