Prof. Micha艂 Lachman is a Lecturer in English and Irish Drama. He is the Head of the Department of English Drama, Theatre and Film, 91滴滴, Poland. His research interests include history of the twentieth-century British and Irish drama, theatre, literary theory and translation. He has published on Brian Friel, Martin McDonagh, Marina Carr, Enda Walsh and Frank McGuinness, Sarah Kane and Mark Ravenhill. His book Razor鈥檚 Edge: British and Irish Drama of the 1990s was published in 2007. In 2018 he published Performing Character in Contemporary Irish Drama. Between Art and Society (Palgrave). He has also translated Christina Reid鈥檚 Belle of the Belfast City, Billy Roche鈥檚 A Handful of Stars, Frank McGuinness鈥檈 Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme and Innocence as well as a number of academic and critical articles for literary and theatrical journals. His translations of Eli Rozik鈥檚 Roots of Theatre as well as William Hogarth鈥檚 essay The Analysis of Beauty were published in 2011. Daniel Defoe鈥檚 Serious Reflections in his translation will be published in 2023. He is vice chair of the Polish Association for Irish Studies.
