Rector of the University of 艁贸d藕 and Chairman of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities (1990鈥�1996). Member of the Pontifical Council for the Laity (1996鈥�2006). President of the International Society for Labour and Social Security Law (2009鈥�2012).

Minister of Science and Higher Education (2005鈥�2007). Co-chair of the Scientific Council of the Polish Historical and Literary Society in Paris.

Senator of the Republic of Poland.
