The international project Digital Sustainable Skills and Training in Education Partnership (DIGI-Step) is a response to the need to acquire specialist knowledge and digital skills in the field of sustainable development. The main goal of the project is to improve digital skills of those involved in higher education pertaining to sustainable development. It is also to fill the still existing gap in higher education for sustainability while strengthening institutional resources and developing knowledge about online teaching.

As part of educational activities two main results will be achieved:

  • elaboration of the content of an e-learning course on sustainable development using innovative tools and digital pedagogy,
  • elaboration of a handbook to help implement online courses in the area of sustainable development.

In addition to the educational dimension, the project has a research component concerning the development of competences related to sustainable development in a virtual learning environment.

The awareness of environmental challenges is growing, which translates into the willingness to learn about the methods and ways we can deal with these problems at various levels, including personal commitment. Additionally, the pandemic situation has shown a gap in the education carried out in a virtual environment. The desire to combine modern online education with knowledge on sustainable development was the basis of the project, which will be developed over the next several months together with partners from various European centres

- explains dr Agata Rudnicka from the Faculty of Management, 91滴滴, who is the project partner.

Today learners expect education that is accessible, innovative and comprehensive. The course which is being designed meets these criteria. Proper understanding of the essence of sustainable development, mutual relations between the economy, society and the environment, and the consequences of disturbing the natural balance are at the basis of getting to know the world

- adds the researcher.

The project is led by partners from Germany from Technische Universitat Dresden, while partners from Greece, Portugal, Romania and Poland are involved in its implementation. At the Faculty of Management of the 91滴滴, the team consisting of dr B艂a偶ej Socha and dr Marta Baraniak is headed by dr Agata Rudnicka.

The project has been financed under the Erasmus + programme, agreement No.: 2021-1-DE01-KA220-HED-000027525 and will be implemented in the period from 11.2021 to 12.2023.
