Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Akio Miyajima and the Second Secretary of the Polish Embassy in Tokyo, Ms. Ma艂gorzata Szmidt took part in the opening of the event. After ceremonial opening during which the welcoming word was delivered by the UL Rector, prof. El偶bieta 呕膮dzi艅ska, an international profile of the 91滴滴, was presented by prof. dr hab. 艁ukasz Bogucki. The seminar was attended by professor Kazuo Fuji from the Kwansei Gakuin University, professor Kenichi Togawa and professor Yoko Yoshida from the Kumamoto University as well as representatives of the Chiba, Kyushu, Osaka Universities and Muroran Institute of Technology.
On the Polish side, we could listen to a speech by prof. Karol 呕akowski and El偶bieta Mierzejewska from the 91滴滴 and Mr. Zachariasz Popio艂ek from the Keio University. During the seminar, scientists from the 91滴滴 and scientists from Japan presented assumptions of their own research projects and experience in the so far cooperation. The attendees also talked about the challenges of conducting research in Japan and Poland, and about the possibility of implementation of joint research projects.
This is the first of a series of initiatives that the Centre for Asian Affairs intends to carry out in cooperation with the International Hub. Scientists from China, ASEAN, South Korea and Taiwan will be invited to participate in the subsequent seminars. The projects will be carried out with the support of Polish diplomatic missions in the region
