Anna Ciszowska 鈥 theatre scholar, theatre educator and cultural animator. A graduate of cultural studies at the University of 艁贸d藕 and the Children's and Youth Theatre Directing Course at the L. Solski State Theatre School in Krakow (Wroc艂aw Branch). An expert in cultural education and theatre pedagogy. A juror at national and international theatre festivals.
Honoured with awards: Minister of Education (2009), Silver Boat Award of the City of 艁贸d藕 (2014), Mayor of 艁贸d藕 Award for theatrical achievements (2011), Mayor of 艁贸d藕 Award for outstanding educational achievements (2009). Winner of two Golden Masks and numerous awards for theatre performances.
Coordinator and originator of the Touch the Theatre project 鈥 艁贸d藕 celebrations of International Theatre Day (2009鈥2022). She was the director of the Academic Centre for Artistic Initiatives in 艁贸d藕 from 2019 to 2022. From 2017 to 2019, she chaired a team of experts in the creation of the Programme for the Support and Development of Cultural Education in 艁贸d藕.
Her directing achievements include professional and off-theatre productions. She is passionate about laboratory stage work with young people. She works according to her own method, developed over many years of experience. Her goal is to build the inner strength of young artists through work in a state of naivety or unawareness. She believes that the source of creation lies in the individuality of each person and, as such, is emblematic of their authenticity. She seeks uniqueness in experiments, travels and processes. She sees the overarching meaning of theatre in contact and interpersonal encounters.
Currently a lecturer at Collegium Civitas in Warsaw and the STA Acting Studio in Pozna艅, as well as a teacher at the J. Lelewel Sixth Secondary School in 艁贸d藕. Professionally associated with, among others, the Bagatela Theatre in Krakow.
