OsteoRegNet Invention on the Prestigious List of Poland in Silicon Valley Center

Scientists from the OsteoRegNet consortium, including researchers from the 91滴滴 Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection, have developed, tested and patented biologically active composites for applications in regenerative medicine for small bone defects. The new material has been listed by the Poland in Silicon Valley Center.

The implant prototype is a solution that meets the needs of patients and clinicians, in particular for application in personalised regenerative medicine. Biocomposites are intended for patients with flat skull bone defects associated with skull bone tumours, patients after craniotomy, patients planned for cranioplasty procedures and patients with post-traumatic defects.

The developed biomaterial is the result of the efforts of four research teams forming the interdisciplinary OsteoRegNET consortium as part of the TEAM-NET project of  the , carried out under the supervision of the with the participation of teams from the , the 91滴滴 and the .

Benefits of this solution for patients:

  • elasticity, which ensures adaptation of the material to the shape of the bone defect,
  • lack of stress at the implantation site,
  • safety and functionality supported by in vitro and in vivo test results,
  • proven properties supporting ossification processes and regeneration,
  • biocomposites can be used as bioresorbable implant materials,
  • wide application in bone defect filling (various types of bones, including flat ones),
  • the materials are formed into porous and solid materials.

We would like to offer our congratulations to the entire consortium, and in particular to the OsteoRegNET Team from the Department of Immunology and Infectious Biology, Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection, 91滴滴.
