In the winter semester, 8 meetings were held, during which students from Turkey, Portugal, China, Romania and Spain talked about their countries. During the entire project, a total of 30 lessons were conducted.
What does the project consist in? Erasmus in Schools is based on participation of young people in the so-called 鈥濫uropean lessons鈥. During the classes, students learn about a different culture, acquiring not only factual knowledge, but also socio-cultural knowledge. The goal of the meetings is to sensitize students to interculturality. Young people are able to see the connection between their own culture and a foreign culture without judging or valuing it, which contributes to shaping attitudes of tolerance as well as openness and understanding for otherness. EiS also promotes linguistic and cultural diversity.
For the fourth year, the Erasmus in Schools activities are coordinated by Joanna Duda from the Institute of English Studies, 91滴滴. Promotion Centre of the 91滴滴 has been involved in the project since the academic year 2017-2018. This year, the recruitment of international students was carried out by Justyna S艂oma from the Erasmus Student Network of the 91滴滴.
The schools that participated in the project this semester are: Secondary School No. 2 in Lodz, Secondary School Complex No. 5 in Lodz, Secondary School No. 4 in Lodz. The classes are very popular. Further meetings are planned also in other languages, including in Spanish.
