The 91滴滴鈥檚 commitment to activities related to the so-called animal liberation movement and care for our planet will be discussed by:
- Katarzyna de Lazari-Radek, Associate Professor at the 91滴滴 鈥 Vice-Rector for Internationalisation of Science and Education at the 91滴滴, a philosopher/ an ethicist,
- Dr 艁ucja Lange 鈥 a sociologist, interested in interspecies relations, Faculty of Economics and Sociology, 91滴滴,
- Dr Agata Rudnicka-Reichel 鈥 an expert in the field of social responsibility and sustainable development, Faculty of Management, 91滴滴,
- Aleksandra Bu膰ko 鈥 Policy Advocacy Manager at 搁辞艣濒颈苍苍颈别闯别尘测, expert on the campaign in the area of food system transformation; she has been creating a systemic vision of a plant-based future in Poland,
- Jakub Hendzel 鈥 the 91滴滴 Doctoral School of Humanities, a student involved in grassroots campaigning and promotion of Plant Based Universities.
The discussion will be moderated by Bartosz Zaj膮c who is an activist of the Otwarte Klatki Association, coordinator of the Social Coalition 鈥淪top Industrial Farms鈥. For over a year, as part of the undercover project 鈥淏ez s艂o艅ca鈥, he has documented the conditions on Polish farms. The collected material was included in the collective publication "HIDDEN: Animals in the Anthropocene" and in numerous campaigns of pro-animal organisations.
The discussion "Revolution or Evolution?..." will cover such topics as:
- plant-based collective nutrition 鈥 including the health and ecological benefits that this solution brings 鈥 and its place in the sustainable development strategy;
- ethical and scientific aspects of the use of animals in research and alternatives to animal testing, such as in vitro methods, computer modelling or organ-on-chip.
Those taking part in the discussion will look at the role of education in shaping knowledge about interspecies relationships. They will analyse the costs, methods of implementation and long-term effects of introducing plant-based nutrition and abandoning animal testing.
The panel discussion is an event accompanying the exhibition "HIDDEN 鈥 Animals in the Anthropocene", which can be seen at the university gallery Wozownia at the Biedermann鈥檚 Palace until 20 October of the current year.
