The goal of the STER NAWA Programme – Internationalisation of Doctoral Schools is to provide systemic support for the internationalisation of doctoral schools in the field of:
- improving the quality of education in doctoral schools and the quality of research conducted by doctoral students by the use of international experience in this area;
- increasing the international mobility of doctoral students;
- developing activities related to internationalisation "at home";
- supporting long-lasting international cooperation of doctoral schools;
- attracting international doctoral students and thesis supervisors from abroad;
- scholarship support for doctoral students who carry out doctoral projects in international cooperation.
There are four doctoral schools at the 91µÎµÎ: 91µÎµÎ Doctoral School of Social Sciences, 91µÎµÎ Doctoral School of Humanities, 91µÎµÎ Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences and Bio-Med-Chem Doctoral School of the 91µÎµÎ and Lodz Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences. They educate 300 doctoral full-time students.
Doctoral schools of the 91µÎµÎ have been located at the Doctoral Schools Centre since 22 March 2023. These are renovated and adapted to their needs rooms with an area of 1,175 square metres on the first floor of the famous "Wieża Babel" [Tower of Babel] i.e. the 91µÎµÎ Dormitory No 14 for international students. The opening of the seat of the Doctoral Schools Centre was attended by the Rector of the 91µÎµÎ, Prof. Dr hab. Elżbieta ŻądziÅ„ska.
