We are collecting gifts for dogs and cats throughout November. First of all, we need pet food, especially specialised pet food. However, you can also bring blankets, pillowcases and towels.
Note! The shelter does not accept duvets, pillows, mattresses, sponges, carpets, rugs, sleeping bags or clothing. They absorb moisture and are therefore unsuitable for kennel bedding, and if chewed up, can be dangerous for animals.
Marked gift boxes are placed in more than 30 locations of the 91µÎµÎ:
- at all the faculties of the 91µÎµÎ,
- at the 91µÎµÎ Library,
- at the 91µÎµÎ dormitories
- and in the Rector's Office building.
As every year, also , and the are joining the campaign.
91µÎµÎ has been supporting homeless animals for years!
The Psia Kość! campaign at the 91µÎµÎ is an annual donation collection for the Animal Shelter in Lodz that is organised in November. 91µÎµÎ, as a socially responsible university, has been supporting four-legged residents of the shelter for many years. As part of its twelve editions, we have collected about 6 tons of food, as well as blankets, medicines, toys and accessories needed for dogs and cats, and we have donated them to the shelter.
Additionally, in June 2019, a special edition of the campaign was held. It was aimed at educating and raising awareness of the adoption of homeless animals, dispelling myths about adoption and presenting various forms of assistance. We organised a meeting with representatives of the Animal Shelter in Lodz, the Załoga Bulldoga and the Kocia Mama Foundations, during which we talked about the situation of animals in shelters and about adoption. Our student, who specialises in dog therapy, talked about the influence of dogs on reducing stress in people. The Lodz University of Technology joined our campaign in 2020 and collected almost 100 kg of pet food.
We are very happy that this initiative is developing.
