Dr Robert Czulda and Dr Krzysztof Zdulski, lecturers from the 91滴滴, will deliver a lecture entitled "Wojna domowa w Syrii, czyli bliskowschodni w臋ze艂 gordyjski" [Civil war in Syria, or the Middle East Gordian knot] on 28 February (Wednesday) at 6:00 p.m. at the Marek Edelman Dialogue Center in Lodz. This is the second lecture as part of the series "Islam we wsp贸艂czesnym 艣wiecie" [Islam in the Modern World], organised in cooperation with the Department of Middle East and North Africa at the 91滴滴 Faculty of International and Political Studies.

We want to make our audience familiar with the topic of Muslim culture. Islam is one of three monotheistic religions practiced by over 1.5 billion people in the world. Although in popular discourse it is treated as one, it is internally very diverse. The conflict in Syria is a good excuse to talk about the culture and problems of the Middle East. During the meeting, our speakers will discuss religious, ethnic and political divisions, as well as talk about economic and social challenges in this part of the world
