Poland and North Korea 鈥 relations after 1989

The doctoral student analysed Polish-North Korean relations after 1989 in terms of political and economic relations, and how they have changed over the years. She also focused on the functioning of the Polish Mission to the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission, which has been operating on the Korean Peninsula since 1953.

Due to the activity of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) related to its nuclear programme, Poland's international activity was discussed, including non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council and involvement in supranational initiatives related to the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and disarmament.

鈥 adds Natalia Matiaszczyk.

The thesis also includes an analysis of Polish humanitarian and development aid for North Korea, its most important projects, goals and tasks.
