The meeting of Polish science leaders in Lodz is proof that the fundamental values of our university: openness, cooperation, dialogue, commitment and shared responsibility for the future of education, translate into a real impact on the development of Polish universities. For the 91µÎµÎ, one of the largest and most important universities in Poland, it is also an opportunity to demonstrate who we are as an academic community, celebrating its 80th anniversary this year.

Participants of the KRUP meeting will address key issues for the operation and development of universities. They will discuss, among other things, the financial situation of universities in the context of planned budget expenditures for 2026 and will also be presented with information on the assumptions of the new evaluation model.

During the meeting of KRUP, we primarily discuss the most important challenges facing Polish universities. Currently, it's primarily the issue of funding for science, but also many organisational issues. Together, it's easier for us to fight for these issues. At 91µÎµÎ, people are paramount; this should be the case in any large, long-term institution like universities, because ultimately, it's for the people that we operate. However, we also want to show the rectors Lodz – a transformed, more beautiful city, because the fate of the city and its universities is closely linked. It's an honour and a great pleasure for us to host this KRUP meeting

–  says Prof. Dr hab. RafaÅ‚ Matera, Rector of the 91µÎµÎ.

In the evening, the guests will be able to view the light installations of the currently underway Light Move Festival, renowned throughout Poland, and on Saturday, they will be treated to a study tour entitled "Lodz – a City in Process. Faces of Revitalisation." This will be an opportunity to learn about integrated activities in Lodz, a city that is boldly transforming its post-industrial heritage into a modern, vibrant urban space. Revitalisation encompasses not only the renovation of architecture but also the rebuilding of social ties and the development of culture.
