The aim of the thesis was to assess the quality of one of the streets in the city centre of Lodz that has been transformed into the so-called "woonerf" 鈥� Traugutta Street 鈥� and to provide recommendations for shaping woonerfs as high-quality public spaces. The research methods she used to conduct her study included an urban inventory, controlled observation and a questionnaire interview. The results she obtained indicated that Traugutta Street is a high-quality space, primarily because it hosts not only so-called necessary activities but also a large number of the so-called optional activities and social behaviours.
