
We are pleased to invite you to a meeting at the EC1 Science and Technology Centre, which is a response to the current climate challenges. "Climate at the Centre" is a whole day filled with workshops, games, cinema special screenings and meetings, of which we highlight one in particular.
At midday in the Assembly Hall of the EC1 Science and Technology Centre, Prof. Jaros艂aw P艂uciennik will lead a conversation with Prof. Marjaana Kangas from (University of Lapland) about living conditions in today's Lapland. nominating the municipality of Salla in Finland as a candidate to host the 2032 Summer Olympic Games will constitute the starting point for the discussion. The campaign was a strong voice for climate change and information about it circulated in . What has changed over the last 3 years? What is life in one of the coldest inhabited regions of Europe during climate change like? Is the prospect of hosting the Summer Olympic Games in northern Finland getting closer or further? These and other questions related to everyday life in Lapland will be answered by Prof. Marjaana Kangas.

Prof. Marjaana Kangas is a specialist in the field of playful and game-based learning and has 20 years of experience in research on playful learning in multidisciplinary projects. Kangas is a leading expert in playful learning pedagogy and the first Finnish education researcher to participate in the EdTech Acceleration programme in Silicon Valley in 2017鈥2019. Her research focuses on the use of play, games and digital tools in learning, as well as the promotion of outdoor education and artificial intelligence in science. She lives and teaches in Lapland, at the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi.
