Konrad Kowalski studied chemistry at the University of 艁贸d藕, Poland. During his PhD study he was a Marie Curie Fellow in the group of Prof. G. Jaouen at the 脡cole Nationale Sup茅rieure de Chimie de Paris, France. Konrad received his doctorate from University of 艁贸d藕 in 2003, working under guidance of Prof. J. Zakrzewski. He then spent 15 months as a Schering Foundation post-doctoral Fellow and EPSRC funded Research Associate at Imperial College London (UK) with Prof. N. J. Long. In 2007 he started his post-doctoral work in the laboratories of Prof. R. F. Winter at the University of Regensburg (Germany), supported by Alexander von Humboldt fellowship. Konrad obtained DSc (habilitation) degree in 2011 and since then he has been appointed an Associate Professor at the University of 艁贸d藕. He received a Ludwig Rajchman Prize of the National Institute of Public Health 鈥 National Institute of Hygiene in Warsaw. In 2020, Konrad was promoted to Full Professor of Chemistry. His current research interests include synthesis and medicinal chemistry of organometallic compounds, chemistry of xeno-nucleic acids, and bioimaging.
